| Physical Therapy |

We work with patients to improve the skills needed to ambulate, improve strength, gross coordination and balance. The PT works with the patient to achieve a higher level of mobility both in and out of the home environment. The PT may recommend appropriate assistive device, such as a walker or cane to improve their ability with walking. |

We provide diagnostic services and treatment for adults in many areas including:
- Strengthening
- Balance training
- Gait training

| Occupational Therapy |

We work with patients to improve the skills needed to perform self-care activities and return to work. We also focus on increasing strength, balance and coordination. To assist the patient with performing activities of daily living, the OT may instruct the patient in use of adaptive equipment.

| Speech Therapy |

We can help in all areas of communication by identifying, evaluating, and treating speech and language problems in adolescents and adults. Anyone of any age can be affected with a communication disorder. Developmental disorders, injury, illness, or aging can take away the ability to hear, speak, understand and use language to communicate. At Lincoln Park Hospital we provide individual care to develop and improve these communication skills. |

Assist family members and caregivers to:
- Use strategies at home to help the individual communicate more effectively
- Learn safe eating techniques for children/adults
- Understand the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of the individual
- Find and use support resources in the community and surrounding areas

| Recreational Therapy |

We use recreational therapy to teach patients how to continue hobbies and leisure activities after an illness or injury. Examples include horticulture and the watering of ornamental plants. Other examples include showing patients how to overcome access problems in the community through outings to restaurants, shopping centers and other events |
